Little Softie.

I've always been a fabric junkie and in the main those fabrics have usually been vintage but just recently I've been adding some contempory designer fabric to my stash.
These fabrics have remained in my stash unused for some time now, I'm often quite reluctant to cut into a fabric, I'm sure I'm not alone on this one!
I have a beautiful new nephew called Ziggy and I really wanted to make something special to celebrate his arrival.
So I made him this little comforter.
It's made from Anna Maria Horner fabric and is from her Innocent Crush collection.
I'm really happy with how he turned out, I embroidered Ziggy's name and date of birth on the reverse. Meanwhile I'm still working hard on a second bear to show you soon!

Rainy Day.

Today has been a wet one to say the least! First of all I was actually woken up by the rain pelting on my window pane and there was a continued downpour for most of the morning! It wasn't a complete wash out because I stayed at home and got a few jobs done.
I took a good look at my bear making supplies and did a stock take of joints, eyes, felt etc and was quite surprised to find that I had a lot more than I originally thought. Then once I realised I didn't have a good enough reason to spend hours scouring the net for mohair and bear related goodies I actually got down to work! I made a new dress pattern for my latest cutie and I'm pleased with the results, there's some teeny tiny stitching involved but it's worth it!
The gloomy lighting conditions in the afternoon made it difficult to get any decent pics so I'll try again tomorrow, hopefully it'll brighten up, at this rate I'll need a boat to be able to get out of the house!

Where did the time go ????

Almost twelve months have slipped by without me updating my poor neglected blog!
Sadly my disappearance is solely due to my lack of bears and also limited time.
I have really missed making my little mohair friends and am happy to say that now my hours at work have been reduced I will now have more time to spend on my bears!
There is something quite romantic about sitting quietly on a winters evening, cosy by the fire stitching away and seeing a new bear with a unique personality come together.
So I've got out all my sewing tools and mohair, made a new pattern and a cute mini bear is well under way. Well in fact she is finished but just not dressed yet....
Back tomorrow with pics!!!

ps. I know it's not exactly winter yet but here in the Northwest of England it certainly feels like it!!! Brrrr
